Tankers meant for Vadodara diverted to other Cities and Districts – OSD
As per OSD Vinod Rao- In our Fight against COVID for more than one year, we had forecasted our requirements of COVID Beds, Oxygen Beds, ICU Beds, and Ventilators well in advance. Today Vadodara has more COVID Hospitals, Oxygen Beds, ICUs, and Ventilators than all other Cities of Gujarat including Ahmedabad and Surat.
Through a well-planned system of referrals and transfers to Satellite Hospitals and Extension Facilities, we have handled the steep increase in Hospitalization in the last 1 month despite a heavy influx of patients from other Districts. We have streamlined the storage, distribution, refilling, and bottling system of Oxygen in the district through various decisions.
But the real challenge now is guaranteed and timely supply of Oxygen. But for the supply of Oxygen, we are dependent entirely on STATE GOVERNMENT for sufficient allocation and timely transportation, as decided by the State Control Room.
In the last two days, we had some instances of Tankers meant for Vadodara diverted to other Cities and Districts. To review the situation of Oxygen supply, today I had a meeting with the Collector, Superintendent of Police, DDO, and Advisor COVID.
OSD VINOD RAO requested Hon Minister Sri Yogeshbhai Patel to hold an URGENT MEETING to discuss the issue of unobstructed supply of Oxygen to Vadodara from State Government. This meeting will be held at 11 am tomorrow at Circuit House with relevant Officers and Elected Representatives of Vadodara.
