Your Annual appraisals to reflect violation of social distancing at workplace
Keeping up vigil against Covid-19, the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Ministry of Labour and Employment, on Tuesday issued safe workplace guidelines for industry and other establishments.
As per the new guideline issued today for Safe Workplace- Employee & Employer has to follow the rule of social distance at the workplace and the Employee has to follow the policies accordingly. Employers can also keep watch on employees via CCTV and make sure they keep a social distance if you do not follow the rules your appraisal might get affected for not following.

The use of the Aarogya setu application is mandatory for all companies. Ban cigarette breaks, and mention repeated violations of social distancing and hygiene norms by employees in their annual appraisal.
The guidelines recommend the expected use of masks by everyone, hand washing for 40 seconds, the use of hand sanitizers, and disinfecting frequently used surfaces. The guidelines advise against the spraying of disinfectant on people under any circumstances.
The employee has to use private vehicles or cycle while traveling to the office and home and use office stairs and not the lift, and if using the lift then only permit 2 to 4 people as per the lift size.
The Health Minister “urged industries and establishments to adhere to the safety guidelines issued and to make necessary modifications/changes at workplaces and process accordingly to maintain continuity in business activities with keeping the workforce safe. Private companies instructed to change HR policies accordingly and make sure to have insurance for all of their employees. Employers should develop a special leave policy for COVID-19 and make psychosocial support available to workers and tie-up with the nearby hospitals for emergencies.
The new guidelines promote work from home and as per the guidelines – if father and mother both working and have a child below the age of 5 then they should be permitted to work from home. Even an employee who is more than 65 years old should be permitted to work from home. offices should be equipped with Hand sanitizers and thermal screening. For the companies providing pick-up and drop facilities, they make sure only 30-40% of workers should travel on the bus.
